“We are in the jungle of metamorphosis; the waters of life bathe and feed it. It is the Eden of love, a place with representatives from the whole story of life on Earth, and still more. We will spend some time and camp here.”

— Alejandra Warden, author of Remembrance: A Vision of the Sacred Feminine

Charis Circles Retreat at Charis Mandala

From July 5-10, our retreat facility, Charis Mandala, was pleased to host our third Charis Circles Training cohort. (A small bout of Covid took some of our retreatants online, but all recovered well and we had a magnificent double rainbow!) Taught by Charis Circles founders, Rory McEntee and Netanel Miles-Yepez, the retreatants learned and practiced Charis Meditation daily and explored the theory and practice of Charis Circles in depth. They will now enter a six-month cohort process with team leaders, Alejandra Warden, Allison DeHart, and Carson Warden. Charis Circles are small communal interspiritual practice opportunities, including a period of meditation, followed by communal contemplation.

Upcoming Offerings

In this episode, we have a roundtable discussion of spiritual issues with psychotherapist, Lisa Chatham. In Part I, we talk about the complex legacies of brilliant spiritual teachers, like Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, who are associated with inappropriate behavior or scandals. In Part II, we explore the spirituality of our most distant past in European and Middle-Eastern cave art and artifacts, and the spiritual futurism and metaphor of Star Wars. In Part III, we discuss the role and importance of technology in our lives and how we can deal with it spiritually.

The New Monastics Podcast can be found on Spotify, Apple, YouTube, iHeart radio, and more.
