This retreat leads off a six-month-long process for becoming a Charis Circles facilitator.In addition to our opening retreat, the facilitation training process will include twice a month Zoom calls (two-hours), with ongoing support provided once you start your own Charis Circle.

Charis Circles are small, interspiritual practice communities which may be established anywhere in the world by facilitators trained in the Charis Circles process and Charis Meditation (a practice based on Centering Prayer and the work of Father Thomas Keating). Charis Circles are held either in-person or online, and serve a deep hunger for spiritual community among diverse practitioners, providing an opportunity for interspiritual communal practice. Utilizing Charis Meditation as a shared practice at the beginning of sessions, a small non-hierarchical circle of participants then reflect on themes of the spiritual path in an intimate, trust-based contemplative model inspired by the monastic practice of collatio.

Our intention is to create a collegial, relaxed, contemplative retreat environment for an intimate group of practitioners from diverse backgrounds. The daily routine involves meals together, periods of silent meditation, contemplative reading and reflection, teaching sessions, sharing of personal spiritual journeys, and relaxed social time for spontaneous conversation.
